PSYCHIATRIST
I began my academic journey in the natural sciences, earning a B.S. in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. I advanced my education in medicine at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena in the Dominican Republic, before shifting to a more intense focus on medical research during my post-doctoral training at Temple University in Pennsylvania. Continuing my dedication to psychiatry, I completed my residency at the University of Puerto Rico and pursued my Consultation and Liaison (CL) Psychiatry Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH) in Philadelphia.
Presently, I serve as an assistant professor of Psychiatry at TJUH and am deeply committed to improving mental health care for the underserved communities of North Philadelphia, where I have been making a significant impact since 2010.
I am a double board-certified psychiatrist in both general and CL psychiatry. My ongoing pursuit of knowledge has led me to the Integrative and Ayurvedic medicine fellowship at Maharishi University and the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona.
