How do you know when you need therapy?

Entering therapy is a personal decision, nevertheless, it is important to understand that there are times when life problems or challenges do not simply go away, and it may make sense to consider seeking help from a qualified professional.

Two general guidelines to consider when deciding if therapy is needed: (1) Is the problem you are facing distressing, and (2) is it so distressing that it is impeding your ability to live a meaningful life; in sum is it interfering with some aspect of your life?

If the answer is yes to the two previous questions, consider seeking professional help. If you choose us, we will be more than honored to be your mental health service provider of choice. Please call our office so that we may assist you.

Your therapist may employ a variety of scientifically supported interventions, including:

  • Attachment Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Trauma-Focused CBT

  • EMDR

No matter what your challenge we are committed to joining with you to help improve your mental health, well-being, and overall quality of life.  We will make sure you are comfortable and able to express your concerns, with the central focus on evaluating progress, to make sure you feel we are helping. The excellent news, which is well supported by researchers in the field of mental health, is that people do benefit from mental health support, showing that the average person receiving therapy is better off than 75% of people who do not seek treatment.[1]  These improvements can be life-changing for many people.

If you are feeling ready to engage in care, we invite you to connect with our front-end staff, so that they may warmly connect you with the right mental health professional in our practice.

The therapeutic services we provide are tailored to the various challenges that are often associated with mental health challenges in adults. Areas of treatment include:

Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, OCD, PTSD, and Others.

CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS

Their success is our success.

We provide child and adolescent treatment with the understanding that children and adolescents live within families and communities that are integral to their functioning.  As such, preventive support and treatment are provided using approaches that have a high focus on collaboration with family and other key people within the community when appropriate. All approaches rendered by our child therapists are provided in a strength-based manner, using a family focused lens. Engaging with family is the gold standard in providing competent care to children and adolescents, it is thus part  of how we support children and teens.[1]

Feel assured to know that our therapists are not only compassionate, ethical, and caring, but competent to address concerns using interventions that are s sensitive to the realities of both childhood and adolescent development.

Some of the areas we treat related to children are the following:

Depression, Anxiety,Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD),Panic Disorder,School Performance,Divorce or Separation, Cutting/Self-Harm

COUPLES, MARRIAGE & FAMILY COUNSELING

Healthy relationships inspire us to be a better person.

Our therapists adopt a relationally focused approach when working with couples (whether married or not) and families. They maintain a neutral stance, striving to ensure that no individual feels judged or blamed. Instead, they utilize their clinical skills and professional experience to explore and understand the dynamics of the relationships involved.

Using this approach, our therapists aim to enhance mutual understanding, communication, and conflict management in a way that is tailored to each family’s specific needs. The goal is to collaborate with you and your partner, spouse, or family to foster reconciliation and create meaningful, sustainable change that helps protect your relationships from further tension and suffering.

Feel assured to know that our therapists are not only compassionate, ethical, and caring, but competent to address concerns using interventions that are s sensitive to the realities of both childhood and adolescent development.

Please note that while virtual care is available at our practice, it is recommended that couples and families meet with a therapist in-person for the initial session. This allows you to discuss the most effective setting (virtual or in-office) for ongoing sessions, ensuring that the needs of all parties are appropriately met.
